Hypnosis for Depression

Hypnosis for depression
This post isn’t really about hypnosis for depression as much as it is hopefully a post to share some thoughts and suggestions about this terrible illness. It’s likely obvious that I was inspired to write it due to this weeks events losing a well loved Robin Williams. It really isn’t meant for ‘commercial exposure’ either; it’s just to put it out there that there is always help if it’s needed.

The facts are that during a lifetime, most people, at one time or another do in fact experience depression in varying degrees.

I’ve been down that road, as have many friends and family members. To be honest I do feel it is in most cases part of the human experience from time to time.

What’s is surprising though is that many times you would never believe who suffers from depression or in most cases we’d never know the degree. Take a look a Robin Williams for example. Our world is rocked at the news of his death. I certainly know mine is. Who would have thought? I am quite sure even his own family didn’t expect that the end result would have come to this.

This news left many of us feeling empty, and almost as if ‘we’ would have known, we would have certainly offered some form of help in anyway we could… if given the chance. But who knew?

Unfortunately there are many people out there who silently suffer and have also considered suicide… but as in Robin Williams case, it’s difficult to tell just how severe the issue is.

To those of us who have experienced short bouts and have managed to heal and bounce back, despite the fact we know how heavy it is, to most of us considering suicide seems incredibly drastic…. and it is.

Sadly, the unfortunate part of this drastic equation, is people with severe depression cant manage their thoughts logically and see any light at the end of the tunnel… ever! To them, their decision is not drastic… its the only solution they know.  To them, it seems easier and a relief.

It’s so very, very sad.

I hope and feel that at very least his passing brought to the forefront how widespread this illness is, and caused all of us to be more cognizant of our loved ones, family and friends, or any individual for that matter… because you really never know what others are feeling or going through.

I also hope it was a wake up call for those who are feeling saddened and depressed… who are able to relate, yet at least see the sadness and the effects of this tragedy. Hopefully, by seeing the world reeling and encouraging people to speak out or seek help… may encourage them enough that they just might.

If you are one of those people who may have thought about wandering down the dark road ending it all, or if you know someone, remember that there truly is so much to live for and so many people who will help if all you do is ask. Ask anyone and don’t for a moment feel weak, ashamed or embarrassed.

Also, if you haven’t already.. get help! If you have had help but don’t feel much better, then get different help! Be open and talk to friends, family, or co workers. Try hypnosis for depression, I would be pleased to work with you and help in any way I can… and try to also find additional support for you as well if need be.

Just keep searching every avenue. It might only take one statement or realization or hearing a different perspective to flick your switch back into producing a glimmer of hope to cause your levels to rise and the healing to begin.

Each day is a gift and an opportunity for something wonderful to happen! It might just take meeting someone, making a new friend or finding something that lifts you up… where as ending it… is the end.

Just ask!!

Additionally, there are many depression hotlines out there to offer support… of which I will gather and add to this post. Just stay strong. The world is a much heavier place now with losing Robin Williams, and would be even darker without you.

Though we humans can all have ups and downs and sometimes feel out of sorts… at the end of the day, life is a great gift and all that really matters is that family and friends are all ok and alive. Anything else can be dealt with after that.

If you or anyone you know battles with depression, and feels they’ve tried everything, try hypnotherapy or feel free to call at any time. The mind is a powerful thing and I’ve seen some incredibly uplifting results. Call me at 604-928-1104 anytime.

Hypnosis for Weight Loss

weighloss jpg

Many people have and do utilize Hypnotherapy / Hypnosis  for weight loss achievement.  While this can be very effective, it’s not as cut and dried as walking into see your hypnotherapist overweight and leaving 10lbs down.

There are many factors that are taken into consideration when working on satisfying a weight loss goal.

The way hypnosis works for weight loss is by programming the mind to engage in new and improved habits and activities that in effect will result in achieving the desired goal.

Because the mind is so incredibly powerful … and even more so while in a deep state of focused relaxation, it becomes much easier to accept powerful positive suggestions that directly target the subconscious mind.

In addition to ‘thinking’ or focusing on the necessary changes, hypnosis can help you ‘feel’ them as well… causing  your mind and emotions buy into new ideas wholeheartedly, causing the task to  be so much easier to feel & become more motivated, empowered and determined to make the changes you require.

Because, generally speaking (obviously with some exceptions) the main reason most people have a challenge losing weight,  boils down to ‘will power’ or forming dedicated habits to stick to healthy eating and fitness routines.

What often happens is we become ‘weakened’ and come up with excuses why we can ‘put off’ our diets “for today” or postpone or skip our exercise till ‘tomorrow’… until we find we’ve eventually  tossed our goal out of the window all together!

Some of the positive suggestions offered during hypnosis may relate to focusing and on and even enjoying healthier food choices, feeling more energized, motivated and even ‘excited” to exercise with enhanced determination.

In addition, suggestions may be given post hypnotically to help you avoid partaking in excess carbohydrates or fatty unhealthy foods.  A post hypnotic suggestion might simply have you feel a strong resistance to opening a bag of potato chips once you pick up the bag… or cause you to feel turned off the moment you touch the freezer door to grab the bucket of ice cream…. and perhaps have an insatiable craving for a carrot or apple instead.

A hypnotherapist might suggest you begin to crave additional fruits and vegetables more often, and perhaps assist you to start a new habit such as eating breakfast each day for those who have trained themselves to skip it in the past.

There are many ways hypnosis can aid in weight loss achievements by  mentally improving your determination… and though it’s not ‘magic’ and certainly does not work for everyone (because what does?)… by adopting a reasonable expectation of success, it can (and does) in many instances make the journey easier, more appealing and far less daunting.

If you have pondered or might be interested in experiencing hypnosis for weight loss achievement, please feel free to contact me at Delta Hypnosis at any time and I’ll be pleased to help you get your questions answered.

Sleep Better – Hypnosis to Treat Insomnia

sleep

Recently I have I’ve found more and more people turn to hypnosis to treat insomnia at an almost alarming rate!  (S’cuse the terminology… Perhaps the word “alarm” is a little out of place on this topic) .. 😉

Joking aside, the truth is…  there are a ridiculous number of sleep deprived people among us; so exhausted they barely function… each and every day.  It’s almost scary really, particularly when you consider many of these sleep deprived individuals perform tasks such as.. driving and  operating heavy machinery… etc…

Sleep deprivation really sucks!!  Not only in general… but it sucks the life out of just about everything who battles the issue and definitely steals the joy.  The worst part is…insomnia is so difficult to overcome… and in many cases its really all because the brain has trained itself to start thinking, rehashing and dissecting everything under the sun the minute you get into bed…. particularly the stressful, worrisome topics… causing the inner cogs to spin at warp speed….

What’s even  worse is the fact that the more your brain spins, the more you look at the clock… and when you look at the clock, you worry more because you know how brutal you’re going to feel the next day… and that makes you worry further still. 🙁

Then….  as the clock ticks, you then tend become anxious about the fact you might actually fall asleep … and all of a sudden… there’s a complete reversal in the thought process as you then  strive to stay awake in case you don’t hear the alarm and sleep in.

This cycle gets worse and worse and as time goes on, becomes more frequent.  After a while, many people simply label themselves an ‘insomniac’ and succumb to the fact they just can’t sleep.  (and perhaps never will… with ease anyway).

So how does one utilize hypnosis to treat insomnia? (You ask)

Well the way Hypnosis/hypnotherapy works by retraining your brain to shut the heck up at the times you need to be ready for slumber.

During a hypnosis/hypnotherapy session, you will be taught relaxation techniques to help you  naturally wind down. When I work with people suffering from insomnia, I personally find it very effective to imbed post hypnotic suggestions in addition to other techniques… to cause you to perform a certain action or movement resulting in a feeling of calm and relaxation to assist you to drift off into a restful slumber.

After a while, the subconscious mind will begin to associate your bed time routine with sawing logs ZZzzzz ZZzzzz allowing you to get the much deserved (and needed) shut eye to keep you bright and perky during the day instead of the other way around.

I have actually had people tell me that Hypnotherapy has allowed them to get the sleep they haven’t had in years… so the results have been pretty amazing.

(urrgghh… can you imagine not sleeping in years??)

If the answer is ‘yes’ and you are one of the unfortunate individuals afflicted with insomnia… contact me at any time… and lets get you tucked in!

I also work with online clients… so feel free to contact me either my telephone or the ‘contact me’ tab on this site.

Night-Night, God Bless… and don’t let the bed bugs bite! 🙂

Breaking Bad Habits With Hypnosis

Bad Habits!… we all have ’em… some worse than others thank goodness… but they are still there nevertheless.  Some habits  are just an irritation, others cause us pain, stress or frustration… but some can be quite severe and even harm us… or impair the relationships we have with others.

So why do we continue?

The answer is simply because these habits or habitual thoughts/actions have become automatic… sometimes over a lifetime of heavy duty repetition.  The fact is ‘habits’ become so locked within our subconscious mind that we usually don’t even think about them while we do them… until we shriek at ourselves and say (or think) “ohhh grrr… look I’m doing it again”…

What’s even more frustrating about bad habits is the fact that sheer will power usually doesn’t work to break them.  lets face it, if will power worked all the time… we’d have a much easier time getting over things and I would not be writing this post.. and you’d be doing something more enjoyable as well.

This being the case, I’ll cut to the chase and answer the very common question:  Is breaking bad habits with hypnosis even possible?

Well… the short answer is … absolutely!  in fact, this is where hypnosis / hypnotherapy comes in very useful and can make breaking these bad habits so much easier and incredibly effective.

You see, as I’ve explained in other areas of this site, habits, thoughts, feelings about things in general have all been thoroughly rehearsed  by us and in essence they become a part of  the way we operate.  That’s because we have become so good at ‘said habit’ that we have caused it to become a permanent part of our subconscious …

The way hypnosis works is by, over a little time, we ‘erase’ or re-program… or reformat  our unconscious, automatic patterns by going directly to the area that needs the positive enforcement.

Because hypnosis puts our minds in a state of ease, relaxation and focus… this causes the ‘conscious’ awakened mind to be completely removed so we can speak directly to our hidden inner programming.

By offering positive, beneficial suggestions directly to the subconscious with the pesky conscious being removed from the equation, directly access  the source of our automatic behaviours

Whilst, I will admit wholeheartedly, there are many people who are on the fence as to the effectiveness of hypnotherapy/hypnosis… it is my firm belief that it’s only because most people lack knowledge.

During the last couple of years (and even years prior) I have seen some amazing transformations and successes because so many people have had  reasonable expectations of achieving a positive result.  These results have occurred strictly due to the inner power of not only the individuals’  deep desires but also because they were open to exercising the power of the mind.

If you are battling a bad habit of any sort… particularly if it is causing your stress, remorse, grief, guilt… or basically robbing your of your peace in any way, giving hypnotherapy an honest consideration just might be the answer you’ve been looking for.

Eliminate Self Sabotage with Hypnosis and Learn to Love Yourself

Eliminating Self Sabotage with Hypnosis / Learn to love yourself the way you should.

Believe it or not, all of us,  at one time or another  sabotage ourselves with negative self talk, thoughts &  mind chatter…. in fact… if truth be told most of us do it continuously.    The problem is though, this ‘self talk’ or treating ourselves poorly can have a dramatic effect on our confidence and severely damage our self esteem..

We all, at one time or another might think to ourselves ‘oh boy, am I ever stupid for doing “X” … or say things like “I sure am not too bright today”…  Sometimes, we may even say it out loud!!

There are many reasons we pull ourselves down… and usually they are not earth shattering or anything that should be even given a second thought to… yet we do it and are usually  we are much harder on ourselves than we would ever dream of being on anyone else.

Our reasons for self sabotage could be due to having guilt issues about something we said, or something we did.  We may feel so badly or embarrassed that we lose faith in ourselves, beat ourselves up and to carry heavy duty opinions around in our heads, resulting in negative mind chatter that we repeat over and over again like a broken record.

Though this might seem pretty harmless, it really isn’t because all of these negative thoughts ‘stick’ in our belief system and become part of who we think we are… thus creating such a fragile and negative self image.

The majority of the people I have met with low self confidence and low self esteem have in many cases actually created these conditions  themselves … and made the negative beliefs about their abilities or personalities become permanently lodged in their overall feelings about their worth.

Often… self sabotage can also be a result of something someone else has said, that at the time hit us in such a way that we adopted the comment as truth.

For example, the negative feelings  you carry about yourself could have been derived from a manager or co-worker who discovered a mistake you made at work. Though the mistake may have been minute, they may have implied you were careless and slap dash… and you felt so badly about whatever the issue was that you actually agreed.  Later on that evening when at home, you  may have been unloading the dishwasher… and replaying the days events  in your mind over and over again… and kicking yourself and repeating that you were ‘careless’ and too slap dash.  Over time you trained your brain to embrace the thought wholeheartedly… and it stuck!

The issue may have been due to a disagreement with a spouse or friend who told you that they felt you were mean, uncaring or stupid… and later on, you went about the day feeling badly but ‘wondering’ if perhaps they were right.  The same process occurred where your emotions became weak and guilt kicked in and the feeling stuck like glue.

The two above scenarios are just vague hypothetical situations… but situations like these are not uncommon and occur regularly.  Over time the feelings you train yourself to feel will do great damage to the way you treat yourself.  Worst of all, they can dampen your life and greatly reduce your self esteem.

Hypnosis helps by eliminating self sabotage from your thought process.

Again, as mentioned, during a hypnotherapy session, the conscious mind will be removed from the conversation and the  hypnotherapist will access your sub-conscious mind directly.  Because, while in a relaxed focused state, the conscious mind will be out of the way and the pesky interruptions of ‘oh I am so mean’  or ‘oh, I am such a loser’ will not occur during this time.

With the conscious mind being removed from the equation and realistic positive suggestions being fed directly to the subconscious mind, the session can be wonderfully effective and in essence will  allow new seeds of self love to be planted.  The positive suggestions will eventually take root to help you maintain the positive healthy feelings about yourself that you deserve and eliminate self sabotage.

If you feel down about yourself on a continuous basis, perhaps a little reshaping might do you the world of good.

A positive outlook about who you are can help you take great strides in life… as a positive outlook will encourage you to learn to love yourself,  live life to it’s fullest and empower you to do the things you deserve to do.

Call Delta Hypnosis at any time to schedule your sessions at 604-928-1104 and lets eliminate self sabotage and create the change to help you give yourself credit where credit is due rather than hold yourself back or pull yourself down.

Hypnotherapy to Improve Confidence

One of the most common requests I receive is to assist clients in utilizing Hypnotherapy to improve confidence … and so far I have seen nothing more than incredible outcomes… which naturally increases my confidence level as well! 😉

Confidence is such a major ingredient to living life well and plays a significant roll.  Its immense importance controls many aspects of our life and has a dramatic effect on most of the decisions we make.

With that said, the sad truth is  the  vast majority of people lack confidence  in one or more areas of life… even if they don’t always appear to, and in many cases they are held back from achieving even the simplest of tasks.

Confidence, or lack of it, determines most or all choices we make in life including the level of success we achieve as well as impact our lives socially and professionally.  It also has a way of  preventing goal achieving,  working towards dreams as well as dampens the desire to partake  social gatherings, join sports team, follow passions … and basically live life to the’ fullest.

Those who are blessed with a higher confidence level let nothing get in their way and are usually the ones who just ‘go for it’… regardless of what it is. They are often easier going, relaxed  and seem to stop at nothing to achieve their goals or even just enjoy a great social life and are comfortable in any setting!

The good news is, hypnotherapy to  improve confidence is available and able to improve confidence levels and  is  gaining both recognition and popularity it deserves as a pleasant and natural drug- free method of personal improvement and many glean terrific results

Though we are not born with an abundance of confidence, or lack thereof, more often than not the degree of confidence we possess is directly linked to the influences and experiences we have grown up with, many from situations that have occurred even early in childhood that have stuck and somehow managed to shape our level of self esteem one way of the other.

Hypnotherapy helps by effectively reformatting and reprograms the subconscious thereby overriding  old habitual thoughts and feelings;   By then utilizing the power of positive suggestion and communicating directly to the subconscious mind, the new positive suggestions will then sink in and reshape the way we feel.

Because the subconscious requires no reasoning, explanation or proof when being fed positive suggestion, it will simply “accept” what is being said to build you up while the pesky and often  more negative ‘conscious’ mind is being set aside and out of the way!

During the hypnotherapy sessions I perform, I always ensure the session is tailored to the individual needs, requirements and circumstances of my client.

Once a personalized series of sessions are designed, upon request a recording can also be made available  so my client can listen in order to continue positively reprogramming which will in essence help to cement and solidify the work that has been done between sessions.

After three or four weeks the frequency of listening to the recordings can usually be reduced and used only on  an as needed basis… should the need occur.  More often than not, after a while, the new positive feelings permanently reshape and take hold.

Hypnosis is believed to be by many (including myself)  to be a fast and efficient modality in which to gain confidence in a natural, safe, enjoyable and effective way and effectively open the doors to better and more fulfilling life choices.

If you feel you could use a boost of self esteem or even a life in spirit in general, contact me to experience a relaxing session of hypnotherapy to improve confidence, as well as body, mind and spirit.  It just might be the elixir you’ve been looking for.
